Greetings

We enjoy this time connecting with you all. We share this with you today.

You look upon us to guide and support you, but what if we told you that you support one another in ways far beyond your imagination?

There is so much more to life than what you believe.  You have only tasted a tiny grain of salt, not only in who you are but also how you are all connected.

You do not stand alone.  It is true, you were born into this world alone, but as soon as you entered this world you became part of an interconnected web. You are one part of the whole.  Every decision you make has an effect on everything and everyone around you.  You are like the conductor of an orchestra.  The orchestra being life, everything, and everyone in it. You have the ability to influence this web in a positive or negative way.

Let us take a moment to explain.  One morning you decide to quit your job, without warning or notice.  You walk into work, pack up your things and leave.  This wheel of change does not only affect your boss and the company, but yourself, your colleagues, people you don’t know and even your own family.

You are now faced with a few decisions.  Do you look for another job or take a few weeks to find yourself and enjoy your new found freedom?  Whatever you decide at this point will have an affect on you and your network.

Your colleagues may need to take on more work to cover the gap of you leaving.  This in turn could mean required overtime, which affects their family time or commitments.  It could, however, help those families bring in more money enabling them to do things they may never have been able to do before.

It affects the clients you served, their families and their lives, having to deal with someone who is not quite familiar with their story or situation. Perhaps prolonging or speeding things up.

Your decision also impacts the people looking for work.  By quitting your job, you have given someone else an opportunity to be employed or perhaps promoted, which in turn affects their lives and their families and so the wheel continues to turn.

Yet, had you not quit, none of what we imagined above would take place.

So many lives are affected by one single decision because you are all interconnected. Now imagine 8 million people all making decisions on a daily basis and how that has an impact on everyone else. It truly is a beautiful symphony.

Each of you has the ability to influence this network of life. What if, you choose to wake up with purpose every morning.  To sit and reflect on the decisions you make and how they affect those around you.  To live consciously. To decide that out of the hundreds of decisions you need to make during the day, that you will choose one, that will positively influence another person in some small way.  A compliment, a thank you, a listening ear, a ‘may I buy you coffee’, or an apology.  Imagine if all 8 billion of you did this daily!

Now, let us take this one step further. What if you made a decision based on your intuitive thoughts?

Let us imagine that you wake up one Saturday and choose to spend the day in front of the television, but something inside you urges you to go for a walk.  You choose to listen to the urge and start walking.  During your stroll you come across a man on a bridge who wants to end his life.  You are the only person there and decide to talk to the man and coax him off the ledge.  He sits down with you, and you listen to his story.  You give him your time and space to allow him to share his grief. After some time, this man thanks you for being there for him and mentions how he decided that if no one walked by to listen to him, he would choose to jump.

You walk back home feeling rather good about your deed, happy that you supported this man.  However, you didn’t just help this man, you helped his family, his friends, his whole network, and yourself. So many lives changed because you chose to listen to follow the urge. Your intuition heard his call through the web of life, and you responded.

We understand that these are very broad examples and situations, but we would like you to think about the world as a whole.  One small decision could make a huge difference.  You notice how quickly negative decisions impact your world, now imagine if you all chose one positive impact a day – what a difference that would make.

We know that you cannot predict every single outcome to every decision you make, and we are not asking you to, but we would like to suggest that you choose one small daily focus and make a purposeful decision to positively influence someone’s life. To listen to your inner guidance when it speaks, no matter how soft the voice.

When you intentionally choose every day, you create a ripple effect that affects the interconnected web which you are all very much a part of.

Thank you for being of service,

The council of 17
